LAOE To Host Educational Get Covered Illinois Informational Event to Focus on Informing Elgin Residents about the Affordable Care Act as a Part of “Cover Your Community” Day

As of Oct. 1, 2013, individuals, families and small businesses in Illinois can sign up for quality health coverage through Get Covered Illinois – The Official Health Marketplace by visiting www.GetCoveredIllinois.gov. Through the Marketplace, Illinois residents can get to the right place to shop and compare all of the health insurance plans offered in the state.

On Nov. 2, LAOE will participate in the “Cover Your Community” day of action, a statewide effort to educate Illinois residents about Get Covered Illinois and the health insurance options available to them. LAOE will host an informational event where they will travel to two Lao temples in the Elgin area throughout the day. They will start at Wat Lao Buddha Samaggi of Elgin. Specially trained counselors, called Navigators, will be present to assist Elgin residents and answer questions in person. If you would like to set up an appointment or have any questions, please contact Sirivone at (847) 337-9122.
