Sabaidee Community Members!

LAOE would like to share the great moments that the Laotian community experienced on the May 15,2014 Advocacy Day in Springfield. On May 15, 2014 LAOE brought over 35 Laotian community members to including the Lao veterans from the Vietnam War, local Pastors, and leaders. There were over 400 Asian Americans in Springfield to building Asian power and this was either by engaging  with our local legislators , engaging with other community organizations, and even showing the world that we care about our community. This trip was very productive. The Lao veterans of Illinois were recognized for their contribution during the Vietnam War at the senate assembly. Governor Pat Quinn and Senator Michael Noland took pictures and spoke to  the Lao Veterans. Senator Michael Noland read the Lao Veterans Resolution out loud in the Capitol Building. LAOE would like to thank all participants and hope to see you next year in Springfield.
