Chinese Mutual Aid Association & Lao American Organization of Elgin Announces Partnership
Partnership to Deliver Needed Social Services in Elgin & Surrounding Suburbs
March 29, 2016, Elgin, IL – Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) and the Lao American Organization of Elgin (LAOE) are pleased to announce their strategic partnership that will provide much needed social services in Elgin and the surrounding suburbs. Due to the State of Illinois’ fiscal challenges and limited resources which directly impact non-profits, CMAA and LAOE joined forces to help transform how social services are being provided in the suburbs now and in the long-run for those in need of such assistance. The public is invited to join CMAA and LAOE at their Elgin Grand Opening & Celebration on Sunday, April 3rd from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at their Elgin office building at 164 Division Street on the 8th floor in Downtown Elgin. The event will also feature a photo exhibit of the Lao community. Providing in-home services for eligible individuals 60 years and over, as well as people with physical disabilities, is one of the core services through CMAA and LAOE’s formal collaboration. The In-Home Services program allows individuals to maintain their independence and dignity while living in the comforts of their own homes. Our In-Home Services program is licensed to provide nonmedical services such as medical visit accompaniment, personal care, meal preparation and much more. Our diverse homemaker team speak over 20 languages including Cantonese, Laotian, Tagalog and Vietnamese. We are currently licensed to provide nonmedical services for eligible clients in Cook County and all of the collar counties – DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will.
